Cell Contamination Prevention: A Critical Step for Experimental Success

Cell contamination refers to the phenomenon where exogenous or endogenous harmful substances enter cells and impair their normal functions. The main causes of cell contamination include unclean culture conditions, contaminated laboratory utensils, and human operational errors. Cell contamination is a troublesome issue—slight negligence can affect the final experimental results, and due to the nature of the contamination process, it cannot be eliminated during the experiment. The effective way to protect cells lies in preventing contamination in the cell culture environment, such as regular disinfection of the working environment, strict adherence to experimental operating procedures, and ensuring the sterility of utensils, among other measures. In the laboratory, CO? incubators, water trays of CO? incubators, and water baths are significant sources of contamination.

Applichem's Contamination Prevention Series products are specifically designed to target these three major contamination sources and can effectively prevent contamination by fungi (including spores), bacteria, viruses, etc. They are easy to use, non-corrosive, safe, and highly effective.

Incubator Cleaner Incubator-Clean? (A5230)

Incubator Clean? Solution prevents the contamination and growth of fungi (and spores), molds, bacteria (and spores), mycoplasmas, and viruses (including HIV and hepatitis B). Its active ingredient is a benzalkonium chloride compound. The solution is free of mercury, formaldehyde, phenol, or alcohol. Additionally, Incubator Clean? is non-toxic and biodegradable. It has also been found to be fully compatible with common work surfaces such as aluminum, tin-plated iron, chromium, nickel steel, high-grade steel, copper, and polycarbonate.

Incubator Clean? is a sterile-filtered solution, available in two specifications: 500ml and 5L.

Incubator Water Tray Cleaner Incuwater Clean? (100X) (A5219)

The water used to generate humidity in incubators can also act as a source of contamination and spread within the incubator. To disinfect this water, we recommend using Incuwater Clean?, which contains a disinfectant that does not damage stainless steel or copper trays. It is non-toxic, non-volatile, and highly effective.

Incuwater Clean? is supplied as a 100x concentrated ready-to-use solution, available in a 100ml size.

Water Bath Cleaner Aquabator-Clean? (100X) (A9390)

Aquabator Clean? is used to disinfect bacteria and fungi in various water baths. When used in circulating water baths, it does not produce foam. The product exhibits thermal stability up to 100°C (decomposition occurs at 140°C). Avoid mixing it with alkalis during use. The active ingredients in Aquabator Clean? are safe for humans and do not cause any irritating effects on the skin when used at the recommended concentration. Additionally, Aquabator Clean? is biodegradable.

Aquabator Clean? is supplied as a 100x concentrated ready-to-use solution, available in a 250ml size.
